Note: Although Floyd didn't mention it himself, Clark noted that the sergeant was very sick this day -- perhaps the first mention of the disease that would lead to Floyd's early death a few weeks later.

Monday July 30th
Set out verry erley this morning, Cam 3 miles. S[t]opt for the man whome we Had Sent with the Indian yesterday. He has not Returnd Yet. Sent 2 men out Hunting. Did not Return Last night. Campt on the South Side at prarie.
