Term: Chequamegon Bay
Definition: on Lake Superior, bounded by Ashland on the east, Bayfield on the west, and the Apostle Islands on the north; the center of the region was the village of LaPointe on Madeline Island until the late 19th century, when it was eclipsed by Ashland.
