Term: Iometah, Menominee leader, c. 1772-1867

Definition:

Menominee war chief, son of Vieux Caron and brother of Tomah; fought with the British during the War of 1812; principal negotiator of the Treaty of 1831; in 1842 his band was located on the Fox River at Little Chute, and they moved ten years later to the reservation at Keshena.
