Term: gable (architecture)
generally, the triangular top end of a wall where it meets the sloping parts of a roof (as in "The House of Seven Gables"); for roofs, more particularly, any roof that has two slopes that meet at the top, forming an upside-down V; the side where the angles meet is called the gable end.
