Term: Ball-hammer (logging)
A small iron hammer carried on the harness hames used for knocking out balls of ice and snow which have formed under the shoes of horses while they were working. Oxen did not have this trouble because of their cloven hoof. Same as peen-hammer. View more information about logging elsewhere at wisconsinhistory.org
