Term: Bolt (logging)
Definition:
A short segment of tree stem from 2 to 5 feet long, sometimes split. Used as primary raw material by wood turneries, shingle and stave mills, and other specialized wood-using plants, or used as mine props. Same as shingle-bolt, spoke-bolt, stave-bolt.
