Term: Wing-dam (logging)
Definition: A pier built from the shore, usually slanting down-stream to narrow and deepen the channel, to guide logs past an obstruction or to throw all the water on one side of an island. Same as pier-dam. View more information about logging elsewhere at wisconsinhistory.org
