Salary: The pay range for this position is between $24.515 and $35.920 per hour ($51,187 to $75,000 per year) plus excellent benefits. This is a represented position in pay schedule and range 07-02. A six-month probationary period will be required.

Job Duties:
The Web Technology Specialist provides support for all Wisconsin Historical Society website technologies. Under general review of the Information Technology Director, the Web Technology Specialist manages the Society's web application development process; establishes, manages and monitors the development life cycle for digital collections and web applications; coordinates internal and external application development staff; manages support for all web applications; and provides technology leadership for all web technology and services.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of project planning and management methodologies
- Demonstrated knowledge of web application life cycle management, including requirements gathering, analysis, implementation, and testing
- Demonstrated knowledge of web site and web application maintenance and operational processes
- Demonstrated knowledge of web application technical design and architecture methodologies
- Demonstrated knowledge of web design, publishing and development tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to create technical documentation, including database ERD diagrams and software UML diagrams
- Demonstrated knowledge of database design, schema creation and optimization for web application development projects
- Demonstrated ability to write functional and maintainable code in a variety of programming languages
- Demonstrated knowledge of Internet technology and networking standards and protocols
- Demonstrated knowledge of web standards, accessibility guidelines and privacy and security policies related to web application development
- Demonstrated knowledge of web site infrastructure software selection, installation and maintenance
- Demonstrated knowledge of web site design technologies, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Demonstrated knowledge of web client applications, web browsers, and Flash plug-in capabilities
- Strong team leadership skills and ability to work well as a member of a team
- Strong level of self-direction, including the ability to estimate and plan tasks, set priorities and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong problem determination, analysis and resolution skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with organizational executives, customers, and co-workers.
