Get Historic Content Delivered Directly To You

The Wisconsin Historical Society is using a new technology, RSS feeds, to syndicate some of its content for use in other Web sites and personal aggregators. Is it something you might find useful?

RSS feeds are ways of sending some of our content to other people and letting them display it how they want. It's a great way to get updates when a new Odd Wisconsin goes online, when Historic Preservation updates the National Register, or when the Library-Archives announces new acquisitions.

So what do you do with these feeds? Well, the easiest thing is to go to Bloglines or NewsIsFree (they're both free) and set up an account. Either site will let you add our feeds to your list of subscribed feeds.

But you shouldn't stop with just our feeds. There are thousands of great sites with feeds — news sites, magazines, personal blogs, you name it. The Wisconsin Legislative Reference Bureau has a list of their feeds. It's just another way to get more out of the Internet.
