The "Incomparable" Hildegarde (1906-2005)

Who was Hildegarde? Liberace called her "perhaps the most famous supper-club entertainer who ever lived." As a wildly popular singer, she appeared on the cover of Life Magazine in 1939. By the late 1940s Hildegarde was the highest-paid cabaret singer in the world.

This Adell, Wisconsin, native passed away last month at the age of 99.
