Last Chance to See Lance Armstrong's Bike

Lance Armstrong crossing the finishing line in the 2004 Tour de France
With the 2005 Tour de France now in the record books — and with Lance Armstrong recorded as the bicycling epic's unprecedented seventh consecutive winner — there are just days left to see the bike he rode to victory in the 2003 race. Intense public interest in the sport of bicycling spurred on by Armstrong's feats has helped make the exhibit one of the most popular in the museum's history. The exhibit, "WISCONSINNOVATION: Trek Bicycle Corporation of Waterloo" closes on Tuesday, September 20.

The exhibit tells the story of Trek Bicycles and the innovations that have skyrocketed the company to unparalleled industry success, a story complemented by the ongoing success of bicycling's most famous rider of all time. Attendance and revenue figures show traffic through the exhibit increased dramatically as compared to figures from a year ago — up by double-digit percentages throughout most of the exhibit's run and topping 117 percent in mid-August. Several public programs held in conjunction with the exhibit drew standing-room-only crowds. With just a week remaining, don't miss this opportunity to see the exhibit and a Wisconsin-manufactured bicycle that helped make sports history.
