Madison Celebrates a Milestone
The city of Madison is commemorating its 150th anniversary, and the Wisconsin Historical Society is joining the celebration! The Society is uniquely poised to contribute to a retrospective look at Madison's history. After all, the Society formed 10 years before Madison achieved city status and, almost from its inception, began collecting material that documented Madison's growth.
The Society is taking this opportunity to share stories of Madison's past through special exhibitions, public programs, and an online collection of articles, photographs, documents, maps, drawings, and data about the city's people and places. Online visitors can now access these fascinating materials through the Society's brand-new Madison sesquicentennial Web page.
