Gala to Salute Five Wisconsin History Makers
Wisconsin lays claim to some of the most outstanding history makers in the country. While some were born here, and their formative years were the basis for creating history, others moved here and found fertile ground for realizing their dreams. Whether they were born here, lived here or worked here, a select group of Wisconsin people have created some of the richest history in all of the United States.
On Tuesday, May 23, the Wisconsin Historical Society will hold the first annual History Makers Gala at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. At this event the Society will honor five "history makers" for their achievements locally, nationally and worldwide. We invite you to attend this exciting evening and celebrate with cocktails, dinner and an awards ceremony for the recipients. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available through the Wisconsin Historical Foundation.
Recipients for this year's Wisconsin History Makers awards include journalist Paul Gigot, Judge Vel Phillips, artists George and Nan Pollard, and businessman Elmer Winter. Each of these individuals has led a life of extraordinary achievement, and we look forward to honoring each of them for their accomplishments. Please join us as we recognize our recipients' contributions to history at the first annual History Makers Gala.
