National History Day Finals June 11-15

Team Wisconsin, the state's 2006 National History Day finalists

Follow the online journal of 45 of Wisconsin's young historians as they compete at the National History Day contest finals in College Park, Maryland, June 11-15. These middle and high school students will present their historical research projects on topics ranging from Roman Britain to Civil Rights to Fighting Bob LaFollette. All their projects focus on the 2006 National History Day theme, "Taking a Stand in History." The national contest represents the culmination of a year's worth of research, writing, and presentations for the national finalists, chosen to represent the state from 6,200 Wisconsin participants in the program.

Check back each day, June 11-15, for updates about the competition and Team Wisconsin's adventures in Washington D.C.
