Last Chance to See the Acrobats of Circus China

The acrobats of Circus China perform twice daily at Circus World through September 4

The acrobats of Circus China — Circus World Museum's most popular attraction this season — have drawn a lot of attention, including being featured on television and performing at the Wisconsin State Fair. But their summer sojourn in Wisconsin won't last much longer. If you have intended to pay a visit to Circus World to see the Chinese circus acrobats, or any of the other excellent circus acts that are part of the museum's 2006 performance season, mark Labor Day, September 4, on your calendar now. That will be the last day of this year's performance season — and your last chance to get in on the fun.

The Chinese acrobats' dazzling 45-minute show, in which they perform incredibly difficult stunts with apparent ease, represents years of intensive study in some of mainland China's most prestigous circus schools. On average, Chinese circus acrobats study and practice their craft for seven years before their mentors feel they are ready to perform professionally. For a more detailed description of what to expect from the show, see our July 3 feature Chinese Acrobats Dazzle Circus World Crowds.

Besides the acrobats, Circus World's entertainment fare includes up-close Elephant Encounters that demonstrate how circus elephants learn their craft, a magic show, the fun and frolic of KidsWorld Circus, and the antics of Doodles the clown. For the first time, Circus World also offers daily tours of historic Ringlingville — the original, late-19th-century winter quarters of the Ringling Bros. Circus. Captivating exhibits on American circus history and the world's largest collection of antique circus wagons are open year round at Circus World Museum.
