Dracula! Old World Wisconsin Gets Ghoulish

The vampire Count Dracula prowls the wooded glades of Old World Wisconsin

Bram Stoker's ghoulish 1897 tale about the nefarious deeds of the vampire Count Dracula will provide the theme and storyline for a dinner theater program at Old World Wisconsin on three successive evenings — Friday through Sunday, October 20, 21 and 22. Bram Stoker's Dracula, a crowd-pleasing program hosted by Old World Wisconsin each fall, engages the audience in a walk-along performance that leads the characters and the audience through the outdoor museum's historic buildings against the shadowy backdrop of the Kettle Moraine State Forest's dense woods.

The evening begins with dinner on the upper level of the 1897 octagonal Clausing Barn. Near the end of the meal, legendary vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing bursts upon the scene in a dramatic entrance, and the spooky adventure begins. Taking audience members with him through the darkened woods to the gloom of Caldwell Hall, Van Helsing leads the entourage in search of Dracula's outdoor lair. The cost is $45 for adults, $40 for children under 18. Reservations required. Call Old World Wisconsin at 262-594-2798 to make reservations.
