Enjoy History? Become a Society Member!
Whether you actively use the myriad resources of the Wisconsin Historical Society or simply appreciate the significance of the past, we invite you to become a Society member. Membership is open to all and is largely composed of individuals and institutions who understand the importance of history today and its potential impact on our lives in the future. Our members like to learn new things, seek connections to the past, and have a genuine appreciation for the people and events that came before them. And, when they join the Society, they receive many benefits, including the colorful quarterly Wisconsin Magazine of History, the bimonthly Columns newsletter, half-price admission to the Society's historic sites, free admission to the Wisconsin Historical Museum, discounts on Society merchandise and research services, and much more.
Members help ensure that the stories of our past that the Society collects, preserves and shares are given a voice. Our 12,500 members provide financial, political and volunteer support. Members work in partnership with the Society to maintain and grow the tremendous resources and services we offer, including the largest library in the world dedicated exclusively to North American history, National History Day activities for schoolchildren throughout Wisconsin, one of the most comprehensive visual archives in the nation, and our Web site — the most comprehensive resource for Wisconsin history available online.
If you are already a member, thank you. If you have yet to join, please do so today and be one of the many people who help preserve, promote, and appreciate the past — Wisconsin Historical Society members. Also, consider giving Society membership as a gift. Are you drawing a blank on what to give someone on your holiday shopping list who has everything? How about their heritage? Give a gift membership, and welcome them into the community of people who love Wisconsin and its colorful past. It's the perfect gift idea for the holidays, and you can purchase memberships online without leaving the comfort of home.
