Gala to Salute Five Wisconsin History Makers
Wisconsin lays claim to some of the most outstanding history makers in the country. While some were born here, and their formative years were the basis for creating history, others moved here and found fertile ground for realizing their dreams. Whether they were born here, live here or work here, a select group of Wisconsin people who created some of the richest history in all of the United States will stand and be recognized at a very special event on Wednesday, May 9, in Milwaukee.
To honor them, the Wisconsin Historical Society will hold the second annual Wisconsin History Makers Gala at the Pfister Hotel. At this event the Society will recognize five history makers for their achievements locally, nationally and worldwide. We invite you to attend this exciting evening and celebrate with cocktails, dinner and an awards ceremony for the recipients. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available through the Wisconsin Historical Foundation.
Recipients for this year's Wisconsin History Makers awards include conservationist George Archibald, business leader Oscar C. Boldt, Native American advocate and scholar Ada Deer, hockey champion and coach Mark Johnson, and inventor and entrepreneur John Koss. Each of these individuals has led a life of extraordinary achievement, and we look forward to honoring each of them for their accomplishments. Please join us as we recognize our recipients' contributions to history at the second annual Wisconsin History Makers Gala.
