Old World Wisconsin Announces New Workshops
If you have ever thought you would like to learn a "new" skill that many a 19th-century Wisconsin pioneer learned more than a century ago, Old World Wisconsin's winter/spring workshops may have just what you're looking for. The workshops are designed to teach 21st-century Wisconsinites many of the customs, trades and crafts practiced routinely by 19th-century Wisconsin immigrants. Skills taught in the workshops range from Care and Preservation of Textiles and Tatting (the technique used to create the silk-lined baby booties pictured above) to Wood Stove Cooking and Basic Blacksmithing.
New to the workshops lineup this time around are several workshops intended for children. They include Little House Quilts for Kids, Wood Stove Cooking for Kids and Their Favorite Grown-up, Butter Making for Kids, and Soap Making for Kids.
Visit the workshops home page for a complete list of the winter/spring workshops at Old World Wisconsin.
