Sign Up for Wade House Summer Day Camps

Young Wade House day campers taking part in the Civil War Program learn to drill just like real Civil War soldiers did.

The calendar says it's the last day of February, with much of the long month of March still ahead before we even reach spring. But, if you have children, summer will be here before you know it so it's not too early to start thinking about planning their summertime activities. If you live in and around the Sheboygan or Fond du Lac areas, you may have to look no further than Wade House's summer day camps. The historic 1860s stagecoach inn provides an authentic historic backdrop that allows kids to "live" and learn Wisconsin history while having fun doing it.

Two themed programs, each offering two weeklong day camp sessions, offer ample opportunities for parents to enroll their kids in exciting, hands-on history adventures that they will long remember. The Pioneer Program introduces kids to such pioneer experiences as blacksmithing, woodworking, candle making, sewing, hearth cooking and much more, as they spend each day exploring the daily activities of Wisconsin's early settlers.

The Civil War Program brings the era of the Civil War to life as children explore the worlds of both Civil War soldiers and their families back on the home front. Camp activities include marching, setting up camp and cooking over an open fire, taking care of the homestead and writing letters to soldiers.
