Dine with Dracula at Old World Wisconsin
Count Dracula. The name conjures up all of the Gothic drama of the Halloween season. And Old World Wisconsin opens the doors to its 1870s Crossroads Village to host an after-dinner walk-along production of Bram Stoker's famous 1897 vampire tale Friday and Saturday, October 24-25 and October 31-November 1. The museum's location in the Kettle Moraine State Forest, just south of Eagle in southwest Waukesha County, provides the perfect spooky backdrop for the evening's events.
Visitors will enjoy a harvest buffet featuring the season's bounty inside the restored octagonal Clausing Barn. Some favorites include a slow-roasted, vegetable-stuffed pumpkin, crispy fried chicken (just like it was made long ago), fresh, leafy salad sprinkled with roasted pumpkin seeds, hand-carved prime rib or stuffed pork loin and an assortment of our baker's prized homemade desserts.
After the hearty feast, guests will enjoy the cool snap of the evening air as they stroll along, stopping to watch the Dracula tale unfold in the period-appropriate buildings of the village. The dramatic presentation will be performed by the Creative Outlets theater troupe of Whitewater, Wisconsin.
Few venues can match Old World Wisconsin for setting a Halloween mood. Reservations are required. This is always a popular event, so reservations are filling quickly.
Tickets are $60 for adults and $50 for children 17 and younger (content appropriate for most families, however parents should use their own discretion regarding attendance by very young children).
