Celebrate Christmas at Old World Wisconsin

Visitors stroll through the 1870s Crossroads Village at Old World Wisconsin during "The Spirit of Christmas Past"

Storytelling, a visit from Father Christmas, a stroll through the charming streets of the 1870s Crossroads Village all decked out for the season, and caroling in historic St. Peter's Church — these are just some of the things that make a visit to Old World Wisconsin to take in The Spirit of Christmas Past on Saturday and Sunday, December 5-6 and 12-13 a "must do" this holiday season. From noon to 4 p.m. visitors can stroll through the village from house to house and shop to shop, stopping to enjoy the different holiday decorations on display. Each home and store will reflect the varied ethnic customs of the original residents.

Holiday Treats, Ornament Making and a Photo Op with Father Christmas

Visitors can make a Swedish ornament, sample some holiday fare, including cookies and hot cocoa and treats like gingerbread and hoska bread, and children may have their holiday photo taken while visiting with the historic Father Christmas. On the Finnish Ketola Farm, interpreters will fire up the sauna as was done by the original inhabitants, creating another cozy stopping spot. Back in the village, caroling, accompanied by the St. Peter's Church organ, popcorn stringing and storytelling will create a festive holiday mood. For complete details about activities and their times, view or download a detailed schedule of events (PDF 452KB).

Special $5 Pricing

As a special holiday gesture, Old World Wisconsin has reduced the admission price to $5 per person (children 4 and under are free). For more information, including a map, distances from various cities, and other details, see the Old World Wisconsin location and directions page.
