Take Part in Wade House Hearthside Dinners

A Hearthside Dinner guest assists the Wade House historic cook with preparing the midday meal

While, for most Midwestern historic sites, winter and early spring are a time to focus solely on their upcoming summer seasons, Wade House opens its doors once each month of the off-season to host an interactive meal from a bygone era. At the next Hearthside Dinner on Saturday, February 20, for example, guests will pitch right in and — not taking any 21st-century shortcuts — will help prepare the 19th-century-style, midday meal in the Wade House kitchen. After preparing the meal, guests and staff will sit down together in the Wade House dining room to enjoy the fruits of their labors.

A Truly Unique Dining Experience

The historic ambience of the 1860s stagecoach inn, the meal prepared from an authentic historic recipe, and the period tools and techniques used in its preparation combine to create a truly unique dining experience that Hearthside Dinner guests won't find anywhere else. More Hearthside Dinners are scheduled for March 20 and April 10.

Tickets sell for $45 per person. Hearthside Dinners are limited to a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 registrants on each date. Private dinners can also be arranged for your special group or family. Call 920-526-3271 for reservations.
