Name It. Picture It. Share It.
The Wisconsin Historical Society invites visitors to share their history at its historic sites and museums this summer, with a special "Name Your Price" promotion. Beginning Saturday, May 21, at the Wisconsin Historical Museum in Madison, and moving to each of the other historic sites and museums on subsequent Saturdays, visitors are invited to name their price for admission for that particular day.
All Revenues Support the Historic Sites' and Museums' Programming
All of the revenue received from admissions directly supports the system's not-for-profit museum programming. So, while this promotion will allow some families a more affordable option to experience our state's history, hopefully that is balanced by the generosity of others who might be able to pay a bit more.
Visitors will also receive a souvenir pennant like the ones pictured above when they attend a historic site or museum's scheduled Saturday promotion. All visitors can enter to win fabulous prizes by following these steps:
- Snap a picture of your visit to one of our historic sites or museums.
- Email or post it on the Wisconsin Historic Sites' and Museums' Facebook or Twitter pages by July 31.
- By sharing your photo, you'll be automatically entered into a drawing to win fabulous prizes.
Visitors Encouraged to Share Their History
While the "Name Your Price" promotion will be offered at a different location each week for the 11 specific Saturdays listed below, all visitors are encouraged to share their history any time between May 21 and July 30 for a chance to win an array of prizes. Names will be drawn at random from all submissions. Grand prize is a new iPhone, five-year historic sites and museums pass, and a membership to the Wisconsin Historical Society. Frist prize is $250 worth of books, event tickets and store merchandise from the Wisconsin Historical Society, and second prize is $100 worth of event tickets and a gas card. There will also be local prizes awarded by each site and museum.
Promotion details and a complete schedule (PDF 620 KB) can be found at all 11 historic sites and museums locations and at Get to Know Wisconsin.
