Historic Holidays at Old World Wisconsin
Old World Wisconsin will ring in the holidays in festive and historic fashion with a series of special postseason events in November and December, including a four weekend run of its popular Winter Dinner Theater: "Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol." A new twist on a beloved tale, the drama takes place in Old World Wisconsin's almost 150-year-old Caldwell Farmers' Club Hall. "It is a beautifully written play, humorous and scary, sad and uplifting, with tremendous heart and warmth for humanity running through the entire show. I can't wait to stage it," said Robert Parker, director of Old World Wisconsin's theater program. The dinner theater program will run 10 times over the four weekends.
Two afternoon, play-only shows are also scheduled.
More Holiday Events
During the ever-popular "The Spirit of Christmas Past" event December 3–4 and December 10–11, visitors are welcome to stroll the 1870s Crossroads Village, sing carols and discover the origins of favorite holiday traditions. The village buildings will be festooned and bustling with activity.
The Old World Wisconsin Foundation has holiday plans of its own as the support group presents "Austrian Holiday Dinners" on December 3–4, including a matinee meal on December 4, and on December 10–11.
Finally, you can join our historic Father Christmas for a heart-warming holiday meal in the upper loft of the historic Clausing Barn during 'Breakfast with Father Christmas' on December 17. Ring in the holiday season in a charming, old-fashioned manner at Old World Wisconsin this year.
