New Packers Book Launched at Lambeau Field
Wisconsin Historical Society members celebrated the launch of the Society's newest book 'Green Bay Packers: Trials, Triumphs, and Tradition' at Lambeau Field on Monday, July 23. The event featured special remarks from Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy, Lombardi-era Packer and former Badger Jim Temp, and author William Povletich (all pictured here). Guests had the opportunity to meet all three special guests, and each received a signed copy of the book, published by the Wisconsin Historical Society Press.
About the Book
"Green Bay Packers: Trials, Triumphs, and Tradition" tells the improbable story of professional football's most iconic team, along the way providing a unique window into the rise of modern professional sports. As the NFL has evolved into a financial juggernaut, the Green Bay Packers stand alone as the only professional sports franchise owned by fans, thus providing the only public record of how a sports team is run.
