Breweries, Beer and Bars in Wisconsin History

Early on in its history, Wisconsin became known for its beer breweries and taverns. And since the Wisconsin Historical Society has been actively collecting historical photographs and graphics since its founding in 1846, two years before statehood, images of brewing and taverns can be found in so many of the Society's manuscript collections that assembling a gallery of these images amassed more than 400 of them.
