Services
The Burial Sites Preservation Program is responsible for identifying, locating and recording all burials in a catalog. Once a site is located it is mapped on topographic and plat maps, then entered into the Office's database. With the exception of Native American cemetery and mound information, this information is available for public use.
Specific Services we offer:
The Burial Sites Preservation Program is primarily responsible for encouraging compliance and offering guidance to citizens of Wisconsin regarding the Burial Sites Preservation law. Because there are other organizations that gather the following types of information, this office does not collect information on, or provide services, related to them.
- Who is buried in a cemetery?
- Cemetery restoration information
- Burial Site searches for consultants
- Assistance in locating burial plots
