Manuscript Collections:
1. Stuart D. Brandes Reminiscence
Eyewitness account by former University of Wisconsin graduate student and UW history professor, Stuart Brandes, of the Dow Chemical Protest and Riot which took place in the Commerce Building on the UW Campus, Oct. 18, 1967. Handwritten immediately following the event, Brandes gives a detailed account of the demonstration as well as a sketch of the interior of the building indicating where the "supporters" and "obstructors" had gathered. Also included are University resolutions, student resolutions, the Mermin Report (published by The Daily Cardinal), and other responses to the demonstration.
2. Edward H. Blackwell Audio Collection
Blackwell was one of the first African-American reporters for The Milwaukee Journal and the first with his own column. He wrote about the conditions of Blacks in the South and reported on Father James Groppi’s efforts in the civil rights struggle in Milwaukee. Included are 14 taped sermons and interviews of Groppi that Blackwell compiled between 1967 and 1970 for a (never realized) biography on Father Groppi.
3. Jean H. O’Neill Genealogies
Extensive family genealogies (1790- 1985) compiled by O’Neill of the O'Neill, Bacon, Higbee, and the Losey Families. The papers include correspondence, family group sheets and other genealogical records, census records from 1790-1900, land records, news clippings, and numerous photographs.

Summary: Index to Waupaca County real estate deeds (Waupaca Series 22) recording the names of grantors (sellers) and grantees (purchasers). Noted are date and time the deed was recorded, names of grantor and grantee, type of instrument, description of the property, and volume and page number of the deed record where the instrument is recorded.

2. Waupaca County, Register of Deeds. Deeds, 1851-1939.
42 reels of 35 mm. microfilm
Summary: Documents recording the conveyance of real estate. Type of documents include deeds, quitclaim deeds, warranty deeds, land contracts, sheriff’s deeds on foreclosures, and special guardian’s deeds. Entries show number and type of deed, date, names of grantor and grantee, description of property, names of witnesses, amount paid, date recorded, and notarial acknowledgement. Most of this series dates 1851-1907: only Volume 51, Quit Claim Deeds, and Volume 93, Tax Deeds, continue beyond 1907.

3. Trempealeau County, Mediation Board. Case record reports, 1935-1940
Summary: Copies of the notice of hearing, summons, and complaint in foreclosure cases handled by the mediation board, with a report giving a summary of the hearing and recommendations of the board.
