Records, 1985-2000, of the budget director consisting of correspondence and subject files on the policy development of the state budget. Subject files include documentation about the Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer stadium issues; state employee retirements, and the state’s bond rating. Additional files document litigation that involved state finances.

Bill Mauldin Cartoons.
Political cartoon prints, 1965-1969, created by Pulitzer Prize winner Bill Mauldin for the Chicago Sun-Times. The cartoons lampoon racism, the Ku-Klux-Klan, Jim Crow laws, and the Vietnam War.

Margot Huston Papers.
Papers, 1950-1999 (bulk 1996-1999), of Milwaukee reporter and Pulitzer Prize winner Margo Huston, consisting of research notes, writings, clippings, interviews, and awards from her career in journalism at the Waukesha Freeman and the Milwaukee Journal. As a reporter, Huston covered issues such as Medicare, homelessness, welfare reform, abortion, and alternatives to nursing homes (for which she was awarded the Pulitzer in 1977). The bulk of the collection documents the implementation of the welfare reform program Wisconsin Works (W-2) in Milwaukee County, with an emphasis on childcare issues.
