H. H. Bennett devoted his life to photographing the natural beauty of the Wisconsin Dells rock formations and promoting the region as a tourist destination. Shortly after Bennett’s death, the Wisconsin Dells electric power dam became operational and his beloved natural landscape disappeared under the rising waters.
