Wisconsin Archives Mentoring Service
In cooperation with the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, WHRAB offers assistance to organizations that keep historical records but have no professional archivists on staff to manage them. The Wisconsin Archives Mentoring Service (WAMS) brings together volunteer professional archivists and historical records repositories that need their help. Click on the WAMS link for details about participating in the program.
From 2000 to 2002, WHRAB had NHPRC funding for a mentoring project that focused on providing on-site visits to Wisconsin repositories by volunteer professional archivists. The project successfully tested the concept of a volunteer mentoring service and assisted eighteen organizations around the state—public libraries, historical societies, and museums.
