Wisconsin Historical Records Strategic Plan 2006-2011
The Wisconsin Historical Records Advisory Board (WHRAB) adopted a new strategic plan for Wisconsin’s historical records at its February 2006 meeting. The full plan can be read here.
The WHRAB developed this plan with help from representatives of stakeholders throughout Wisconsin and with information collected from a broad field of archivists and archives in the state. Mr. Frank Martinelli, of The Center for Public Skills Training in Milwaukee, facilitated all planning meetings and consulted with the Board on the planning process. Grant funding from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) supported the work on the plan.
The WHRAB analyzed responses from its statewide survey and selected four issues on which to build its plan. Information on the survey responses and the four issues can be seen in the Powerpoint presented at the June, 2005 meeting with stakeholder representatives (click link below). Teams of Board members and stakeholder representatives then prepared briefing papers for each of the issues. They presented these at a second meeting in October, 2005, at which they also defined the plans four strategic goals and brainstormed strategies and actions. The planning team (Matt Blessing, Peter Gottlieb, and Skip Belstner) used the decisions from the October meeting to draft the complete plan.
