The Museum was a gift to the City of Portage by the husband of Pulitzer Prize author Zona Gale. Her study is maintained in its original style and condition. We provide a series of exhibits pertaining to Portage history, including the Fox-Wisconsin River, Portage railroad memorabilia, the Portage Canal. and many other general exhibits distributed over two floors. The main floor is handicap accessible; no admittance fee is charged!
