Odd Wisconsin Educational Resources
A field trip to the Odd Wisconsin exhibit provides you with an opportunity to challenge your students to Think Like a Historian. The objects featured in the Odd Wisconsin exhibit cover a wide variety of time periods and areas of our state. From industry, to immigration, to social history, they will be exposed to items that helped shape our world.
We've developed an Odd Wisconsin Teachers Guide for you to use during your museum visit. It offers ways to help you encourage students to critically think, make personal connections with history, and to evaluate information by asking why, how, and most importantly, "how do you know?" The Teacher's Note page gives instructions on how to use the guide with your students.
Odd Wisconsin Teachers Guides
The Odd Wisconsin field trip has been integrated with the Museum's guided tour, "Why History Matters." It is designed to meet several Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Standards. Groups can also visit the exhibit as part of their self-guided museum time. If you are interested in scheduling a group visit, contact our Museum Tour Registrar at 608-264-6557. We will work with you to identify your group needs and tailor a program to enhance your museum visit.
