Enjoy Guided Hands-on Experience at the Museum
Guided Programs:
Program Package #1
Native Peoples of Wisconsin: During this one-and-a-half-hour program, groups will be divided equally. An individual content expert will lead each sub-group through the sections in the People of the Woodland Gallery including Wisconsin archaeology, the fur trade and the lifeways of native people. The focus of this program is to demonstrate with the students the interconnected components of each section and to better understand the lifeways of early Native American's compared to the Native Nations and Tribes living in Wisconsin today.
This program consists of a one-hour guided segment and a half-hour self-guided segment. During the half-hour self-guided segment groups will be allowed to visit all three exhibit floors.
Tuesday-Friday, September 15th-March 1st

Why History Matters: This one-and-a-half-hour interactive and hands-on program provides students with a general introduction to Wisconsin history through museum exhibits. It encourages students to think critically and make personal connections with history. This program also encourages learning and understanding of personal connections by using comparing and contrasting techniques. Program content varies based on the personality of the content expert who guides the group through the museum. Groups visit the third- and fourth-floor permanent exhibit galleries and the temporary exhibit gallery as available.

Open Booking Reduced Rate Season
January -February and June 15th-September 15th
During these months the opportunity exists to book programs for reduced fee rates.
Guided Program for Adults:
Each adult group is greeted and welcomed by a Museum staff member. Groups who chose this option will participate in a guided program with a focus on an era of Wisconsin History. Depending on the group's size the whole group may be divided into smaller groups to work with individual tour guides. Combinations of guided programs with self-guided programs are also available.
