The Wisconsin Historical Museum celebrates the history and shared experiences of the many cultures that settled this wonderful state. The Education Department offers a variety of programs, both guided and self-guided, that adhere to the State of Wisconsin Model for Academic Standards for Social Studies as well as other academic standards such as Family and Consumer Education, The Behavioral Sciences, Marketing Education and Art and Design Understanding.

If you are interested in scheduling a group visit, contact our Tour Services Coordinator at 608-264-6557. We will work with you to identify your group needs and tailor a program to enhance your museum visit.

Fees for Package Programs
Students and Chaperones : $4.00 per person
Classroom Teachers are free of charge

SPECIAL NOTICE
Scholarships are sometimes available for Museum visits. If your school meets the following criteria, your group may be eligible for a fee reduction. You must inform Tour Services during the registration process.

The criteria are:

  • Federally funded Head Start programs
  • Public schools in which 50% or more of the students enrolled qualify for government-subsidized meals
  • Daycare centers that receive at least 50% of their funding from governmental sources specifically aimed at serving low income or at-risk children
  • Daycare centers in which 50% or more of the enrolled children receive some form of public assistance.

Groups scheduled for a Guided program arriving 25 minutes or more late will convert to Self-Guided program of the exhibit galleries at the Guided program rate. The goals for guided programs cannot be accomplished in during a substantially shorter visit.

There is a no show/cancellation fee of $25.00 for groups who fail to provide adequate notice.
