Information Desk Volunteers

Are you a “people person” who likes to make visitors feel welcome? Would you enjoy meeting people who share your interest in museums or love of history?

Position Description: Provide Madison hospitality at its best by greeting visitors and orienting them to the Museum’s exhibits and programs. Use reference materials to assist out-of-town visitors with questions about downtown Madison or the Wisconsin Historical Society.

Shifts: Weekdays 10:00-1:00, 1:00-4:00
Saturdays 9:00-11:30, 11:30-2:00, 2:00-4:00
Occasional Sundays.

Time Commitment: Two shifts per month (with flexibility
for vacations and other personal commitments)

“The best part about working at the info desk is getting to meet people from all over the world who visit the Museum. I enjoy having the opportunity to share my knowledge and recommendations about various aspects of the downtown when people have questions.
