Rites of Spring
It’s that time again – the vernal equinox. Flowers will soon be appearing through the last snow. In kindergartens the little ones will be planting seeds in the ritual science experiment, and soon they’ll be hunting Easter eggs. Their elders will be showing off new dresses and Easter bonnets, and patching potholes. For a look at some very special Easter eggs, don’t miss the exhibit “From Shell to Symbol” which is at the Wisconsin Historical Museum through April 30th. It presents dozens of colorfully decorated Easter Eggs by four Wisconsin artists, representing Ukrainian, Croatian, and Czech traditions and explains the ethnic, religious and political symbolism behind the intricate designs.
