On a Quest for Buried Treasure
With their eyes on the prize — rich veins of lead and zinc ore — they crossed the atlantic and trundled across largely uncharted wilds of the Wisconsin Territory with little else but the knowledge that
they were the best hard-rock miners in the world. As they planted their roots here, they transplanted their Old World
culture in rich Wisconsin earth. At Pendarvis, little has changed since their arrival.
