The 1870s Schottler Farm at Old World Wisconsin

The Schottler Farm in Old World Wisconsin's German Area is interpreted as an 1870s farm. Mathias Schottler and his wife Caroline built and operated the farm, working to diversify it in order to meet the challenges of economic depression during the 1870s. Their farmhouse, built circa 1847 in Germantown, is an example of the German Blockbau (log) building tradition.
