… when that takes place, America will find herself delicately situated, but by no means dangerously, provided our fellow Citizens will establish a respectable fœdral Government—It may give you some satisfaction to know our friend Mr. Adams’s opinion of the Constitution now under consideration, I send you a Copy of part of his last letter to me, which is to close the 3d. Vol: of his work—you may peruse it, shew it to fœdral men, (whom heaven preserve) or publish it as you think best. …
