Spend your morning further exploring the many faces of Milwaukee.
Tour the 37-room 1892 Captain Frederick Pabst
Mansion, home of the famous German beer baron, real estate developer
and philanthropist. Later, enjoy lunch aboard the Edelweiss,
as it cruises the Milwaukee River through the heart
of the city and into Lake Michigan for fabulous views
of the city skyline. After lunch, get a "taste" of Milwaukee's sudsy
history with a tour of the Miller
Brewing Company. As you bid adieu to Wisconsin's largest city,
head 60 miles north on Highway 43 to Kohler. The Kohler
Company, the world-renowned plumbing manufacturer, offers year-round
tours of its factory as does the Kohler Design Center,
which contains the company's ceramic arts collection,
early Kohler artifacts and a product showroom. Waelderhaus,
a replica of the Kohler home in Voralberg, Austria,
also offers year-round tours free of charge. In nearby
Sheboygan take in exhibits of some of most unique and pioneering artistry
in the Midwest at the John
Michael Kohler Arts Center, which supports and celebrates innovations
in art and the work of self-taught artists.
