Day Two: Baraboo-Area Heritage Tour

A hiker takes in the
sweeping panoramic
view
from a bluff
overlooking beautiful
Devil's Lake State Park.
Start your morning with a hike at Mirror
Lake State Park, set amid sandstone bluffs where Camel Creek flows
into Mirror Lake, just three miles south of Wisconsin
Dells on Highway 12. Devils
Lake State Park, located on Highway 159 one mile east of 12, is
a true geological gem, with 500-foot bluffs surrounding
a sparkling 360-acre spring-fed lake. After a picnic
lunch, head back north to Baraboo and take in a Big Top
show at Circus
World Museum, birthplace of world-famous circus
impresarios, the Ringling Brothers, who had their winter
headquarters on the site where the museum stands today.
Even in the off season, Circus World's Irvin Feld Exhibit
Hall offers visitors exhibits of American circus history
and showcases some of the museum's extensive collection
of ornate and colorful circus wagons. We hope you'll
plan on taking another heritage tour soon.
