Wisconsin State Agricultural Museum
Explore farmers' and inventors' achievements — historic photographs, colorful advertising art, and farm implements and tractors, including rare examples.

1900 Farmstead
Step inside a progressive farmer's home and workplace — a re-creation based on a plan issued by the United States Department of Agriculture in 1901.

1900 Village
Browse the shops of a farmers' shopping center — a 30-building re-creation based on Wisconsin villages of a century ago that provided the farm family with access to goods, services, and social activities.

The Governor Nelson Dewey Home Site
Explore a gentleman farmer's estate — historic structures that were part of an expansive late- 1800s farm and orchard. Associated with Wisconsin's first governor, Nelson Dewey, and originally designed in the Gothic Revival architectural style, the buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

  • Accessibility: Ask for assistance at the Visitor Center. Stonefield is partially barrier free.
  • Lost & Found: Located in the Visitor Center.
  • Public Telephone: Adjacent to the parking lot.
  • Gifts & Souvenirs: Available for purchase in the Museum Store, located in the Visitor Center.

Site Policies

  • Observe caution around the active train tracks. Use designated crossing only and observe signals.
  • Smoking restricted to lawn areas only.
  • Please stay behind barricades. Enjoy artifacts, plants, and farm animals by looking rather than handling or feeding. Please stay off train cars, fences, walls and trees.
  • Eating and drinking permitted in confectionery (bldg. 44 on the map) and picnic areas only.
  • Pets must be attended and held on a short leash at all times. Restrict animals to outdoors. Pick up after them, please.
  • Photography and videotaping for personal use are permitted.
  • Shoes and shirts are required.
