"Ikey" Karel leads the Badgers to victory in 1894

Judge Karel, Wisconsin football star in 90s, dies


Despite his years in politics and in the judiciary, John Colonel Karel, or "Ikey" as he was called, was perhaps best known for scoring the winning touchdown in the Badgers first victory over the Minnesota Gophers in 1894.
