Beloit College Timeline


Chartered in 1846, Beloit College resulted from a series of conventions involving both clergy and laity from northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Known as the Friends of Education, they accepted an offer of materials and cash from the village of Beloit to build a frontier college. This timeline explores the history of the college with links to additional information about notable faculty members and significant events in Beloit College's history.
