The Manufacture of Rubber Footwear: An Illustrated Story of Rubber from its Growth to the Finished Product
The La Crosse Rubber Mills opened its doors in 1897, manufacturing rubber horse shoes and rain gear. In 1906, the company switched gears and entered the less crowded field of rubber and canvas footwear. This report includes a general history of the industrial development of rubber and features many interior and exterior photos of the La Crosse Rubber Mills plant showing the manufacturing process.
