A well-known cooperative creamery in Westby
Camp Co-op: Westby Cooperative Creamery
Westby, in north-central Vernon County, has a long history of cooperative businesses. One of the best-known is the Westby Cooperative Creamery, which was founded in 1903. Cooperatives are businesses that are owned and controlled by the people who use and benefit from their services. Scandinavians were particularly adept at forming cooperatives and immigrants from Finland and Norway brought that experience with them to Wisconsin.
