Giving Opportunities
The Wisconsin Historical Society is both an agency of the state and a membership organization whose mission is to engage the public with the excitement of discovery, inspire people with new perspectives on the past, and to illuminate the relevance of history in our lives today. The Society serves over 1,000,000 people annually from across the state to around the world through its library/archives, museum, preservation, public history, and state historic sites programs.
Private support is increasingly necessary to ensure continued excellence in the Society's important work of collecting, caring for, and sharing Wisconsin and North American historical treasures. Your gift will help provide that measure of excellence allowing the Society to enhance its ranking as one of the largest, most active, and diversified historical societies in the nation.
As the Society’s non-profit, private fund-raising arm, The Wisconsin Historical Foundation offers a variety of ways to contribute to the Society’s work. A member of the Foundation staff would be happy to answer any questions you may have about making a charitable contribution for the Society. As you consider a gift we encourage you to look at the various giving opportunities highlighted to the left. To learn more about these giving opportunities, please contact the Foundation staff member listed in each section.
Your gift does make a difference. Every gift, whatever its size or type, is needed and appreciated by the Society.
